Margot de Taxco Vintage Enamel Silver Green Snake Mexico Bracelet
The enamel bracelet is referred to as "melange", or "confetti", and is composed of various translucent shades of greens, reds, browns, blues, and yellows. The pre-Columbian serpent is made up of a head, tail, and body segments and is fully articulated. The body parts are held together with rivets, which gives the wonderful flexibility that enable the necklace to lay perfectly on the wrist.
About the designer: Circa mid-century, this necklace was produced by Margot Van Voorhies Carr, whose shop and work is known as Margot de Taxco. One of Margot's most iconic designs, the snake, or serpent, is a painstaking work of art. It's a book-piece design, shown in the Penny C. Morrill book "Margot van Voorhies : The Art of Mexican Enamelwork.
